Seon (Chan/Zen) Enlightenment of Taego Bou: Practical Wisdom for Awakening Society

Ven. Jinwol Young Ho Lee was born in Uiwang, Korea, 1950, and became a Seon(Chan/Zen) master. Has spent most of his life as a Buddhist monastic, started in 1968 and became a Buddhist monk in 1969. Graduated from Haein Sangha College and fully ordained in 1974. Practiced Seon (Zen) at monasteries in the mountains until 1980, since then has been teaching the history and thoughts of Seon Buddhist meditation in schools so far.

He established United Religions Initiative of Korea and had been working as a president of it since 1999. Has been working as a Global Council Trustee of United Religions Initiative since 2000. Has been appointed and working as a member of Committee for International Affairs of Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism since 2000. Has been working as an Executive Committee member of World Fellowship of Buddhists since 2002. Had been appointed as a member of Presidential Committee on Sustainable Development in the Republic of Korea. 2004-2006. Had taught religious studies and Buddhist meditation practice at Dongguk University in Seoul Campus 1998-2006 and has taught Buddhism as the Professor of Seon Studies at Dongguk University in Gyeongju Campus since 2006. Has been working as a Steering Committee Member of Coalition for the UN Decade of Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, Understanding and Cooperation for Peace, as well as the Secretary General of URI Asia Executive Council in 2009. Has been working as Director of Institute of Seon at Dongguk University since 1010.
