Implementation of Buddhist Principles for Improving Environmental Quality and Humanity’s Welfare

Graduated as veterinarian at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University, Surabaya - Indonesia. Also trained in conservation management and environmental education at Conservation and Research Center, WV, USA and International Centre for Conservation Education, Cheltenham, Gloustershire, UK. Founder of the first Indonesian Environment EducationCenter in East Java, received awards and recognitions from : the Rolex Awards for Enterprise, UNEP Global 500 Awards, The Ashoka - Innovator for the Public, Washington U.S.A 1990, The Environmental Award, Pacific Asia Tourism Association, Jakarta , The Indonesian Government National Medal for the participation in the Development, Jakarta .

At present he lectures as guest lecturers at STAB Kertarajasa Buddhist College, University of Ciputra, Surabaya. Also organizes trainings, seminars and conferences on environmental topics for various targets groups, such as the Caretakers of the Environment International. Environmental Teachers International Convention etc., up to local communities. He also links environmental issues topics with culture, archaelogy, sociology and anthropology in his programmes. He also wrote some simple practical guideline books on environmental topics : saving energy, water treatments etc., in Indonesian.
